Prompt: You are currently working on a soundtrack for selected Emily Dickinson poems. With that in mind, if asked to choose a song to describe your life right now, which song would you select and why?

Prompt Response: One song that would accurately describe the way my life is going right now is Way of Life by Shoji Meguro. This song describes several sentiments I feel are quite relevant to my mind currently, including how people walk through life without really living or seeing anything as well as believing in your own ideals. I also really like it musically as well as where it's from, a game's original sound track (or ost) that I really enjoyed playing, that being Persona 3. Overall, I find the song to be quite enjoyable and applicable to myself personally, and I find it really effective when you can find yourself in a song.

Summary: Today, we worked on a soundtrack for Emily Dickinson's poetry, and took a quiz on several aspects of her works and life.

Reflection: I feel I did pretty good on the quiz and I should at least get an eighty or above. I believe that the test was pretty fair, but I don't remember going over slant poetry, so hopefully I guessed correctly.

Prompt: In  “ We Real Cool ,”  the speakers make choices that seem exciting, bold, and rebellious, even though those choices lead to consequences. Write about a moment in your own life when you followed what looked cool or fun, only to realize afterwards that it wasn’t the smart or responsible path. What influenced your decision, and how did your perspective change later? Prompt Response:  One moment in which I followed what was "cool" at the time was in elementary school. During this one particular phase, many of my peers were beginning to learn and use swear words when adults wren't in the room. In my juvenile mind, most of the swears I "learned" didn't feel like real words, which left me skeptical of those who taught me them.
