You’ve been in American Literature for 4.5 weeks now. How has the class been going for you so far?

Prompt: You’ve been in American Literature for 4.5 weeks now. How has the class been going for you so far?

Prompt Response: I believe the class has been going relatively well so far for this semester. I think this as I have been understanding the content and getting good grades. If I could choose an area to improve upon, it would be my class participation in discussions and other random questions. But still, overall, I am quite happy with where I am currently in this class and am glad that it is not as bad as I thought it was.

Summary: Today in class we read a poem by Emily Dickinson, and then identified the symbolism and definitions of various words we found within it.

Reflection: I found the poem to be mildly entertaining, especially the various symbolism that we found. I believe that if I was given a poem, I could probably identify the symbolism and themes pretty easily.

Use a hyperbole, an understatement, and a litotes to describe today's lesson.

As the first semester comes to an end, take time to reflect on your learning and growth in this course. In a well-developed response, explain what you enjoyed most about the class, identify the project or assignment you found most engaging, and discuss which aspect of the course you connected with the most (such as poetry, fiction, writing, or discussion). Finally, reflect on one area where you feel you need additional support or improvement as we move into the spring semester.

Write about a moment in your own life when you followed what looked cool or fun, only to realize afterwards that it wasn’t the smart or responsible path. What influenced your decision, and how did your perspective change later?
