Prompt: Reflect on a time when you paused to appreciate the beauty of nature, much like the speaker in “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening.” Where were you, what did you notice, and how did that moment of stillness make you feel or change your perspective?

Prompt Response: A time where I paused to appreciate the beauty of nature, much like the speaker in "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening" is when I was riding my bicycle by myself at twilight. One day I decided I was going to go for a casual bike ride behind my dad's condo. It was twilight, and so the sky was getting darker as the clouds loomed ominously overhead. I felt the wind blow by and it was all around quite peaceful. The stillness and movement made me feel quite tranquil, and almost as if nothing else really mattered at all. From this experience I learned that nature can calm the soul in ways that other man-made remedies cannot.

Summary: Today we worked on a one pager based off a random poem we received in class.

Reflection: The one pager was quite a lot of work, and I wished that I got more done. I hope that I am able to finish in class tomorrow, but it will probably be quite close.

Use a hyperbole, an understatement, and a litotes to describe today's lesson.

As the first semester comes to an end, take time to reflect on your learning and growth in this course. In a well-developed response, explain what you enjoyed most about the class, identify the project or assignment you found most engaging, and discuss which aspect of the course you connected with the most (such as poetry, fiction, writing, or discussion). Finally, reflect on one area where you feel you need additional support or improvement as we move into the spring semester.

In “We Real Cool,” the speakers make choices that seem exciting, bold, and rebellious, even though those choices lead to consequences. Write about a moment in your own life when you followed what looked cool or fun, only to realize afterwards that it wasn’t the smart or responsible path. What influenced your decision, and how did your perspective change later?
