Write about the best gift you have received.

Prompt: Write about the best gift you have received.

Prompt Response: I think that the best gift I've every received has to be my computer. When I was a lot younger, I always worked and played on a very old laptop that overheated to the point where it hurt to touch. While I dealt with this ancient machine, my much younger brother received a brand new laptop specifically for playing games, which he preceded to only play Roblox on. This made me quite annoyed and a little mad due to the fact that I was still stuck struggling to run the most basic of games while he got to play absolutely everything perfectly. However either on my birthday or Christmas, I was finally gifted a newer laptop which remedied the issue. All in all, I think I should've been a bit less jealous back then and accepted that I probably would have gotten a new one at some point. I should've also been a bit more grateful for what I had, as I had many friends that only had iPads.

Summary: Today, we dove deeper into the world of argumentative writing and observed the case of OJ Simpson.

Reflection: I found the case shown in class to be quite interesting to say the least. I think it says a lot how a case can mean very different things to different groups of people.

Use a hyperbole, an understatement, and a litotes to describe today's lesson.

As the first semester comes to an end, take time to reflect on your learning and growth in this course. In a well-developed response, explain what you enjoyed most about the class, identify the project or assignment you found most engaging, and discuss which aspect of the course you connected with the most (such as poetry, fiction, writing, or discussion). Finally, reflect on one area where you feel you need additional support or improvement as we move into the spring semester.

In “We Real Cool,” the speakers make choices that seem exciting, bold, and rebellious, even though those choices lead to consequences. Write about a moment in your own life when you followed what looked cool or fun, only to realize afterwards that it wasn’t the smart or responsible path. What influenced your decision, and how did your perspective change later?
