Describe a place where you feel the most at peace and explain why.

Prompt: Describe a place where you feel the most at peace and explain why.

Prompt Response: I often feel at peace in two places, the first being my room and the second being deep in nature. In both of these places I feel quite free and isolated from the rest of society, allowing me to finally relax and do what I want to do. In nature I often get into a reflective mood, allowing me to feel a sort of serenity and lightness I don't feel in other unnatural places. All in all, if I didn't have these places I would probably be a much more bitter and unpleasant person.

Summary: Today we did the rhetorical device lessons seven and eight.

Reflection: I felt that the exercise for procatalepsis was quite long, and so I'm glad I got it done in time before the bell rang. The exercise for distinctio was much easier, taking me only five to seven minutes in total.

Use a hyperbole, an understatement, and a litotes to describe today's lesson.

As the first semester comes to an end, take time to reflect on your learning and growth in this course. In a well-developed response, explain what you enjoyed most about the class, identify the project or assignment you found most engaging, and discuss which aspect of the course you connected with the most (such as poetry, fiction, writing, or discussion). Finally, reflect on one area where you feel you need additional support or improvement as we move into the spring semester.

In “We Real Cool,” the speakers make choices that seem exciting, bold, and rebellious, even though those choices lead to consequences. Write about a moment in your own life when you followed what looked cool or fun, only to realize afterwards that it wasn’t the smart or responsible path. What influenced your decision, and how did your perspective change later?
