Prompt: In 2–3 well-developed sentences, reflect on how you spent your Holiday Break. Then, identify four personal you would like to achieve this year and briefly explain why each goal is important to you (Copy and paste your completed response from Writable into your blog).

Prompt Response: This break I've done quite a lot of relaxing while also doing a variety of activities new and old. At the start, I took a small family trip to Chattanooga, where we ate at many good restaurants and hiked quite a it. After this, I took a more relaxed approach, playing games and sleeping in for the the second half. All in all I had a very good time and hope that breaks in the future can take after this one.

1. One goal that I hope to fulfill this year is cooking more nutritious and complex meals for myself. This goal is important as it is essential for both college and life as an adult. In order to achieve this, I will start researching viable recipes and compile them in either a digital or physical journal. By designating a specific day where I cook on top of this, I will gradually develop these vital skills. I hope to implement this by the end of this month of January.

2. Another goal that I hope to fulfill this year is getting my driver's license. This goal is important as it would allow me to take both my brother and I to places without having to rely on my parents. In order to achieve this, I will complete the necessary driving course virtually before taking my test at the DMV. By practicing and doing my lessons every day, I will eventually obtain it sometime this year. I hope to implement this by the end of March.

3. Yet another goal that I hope to fulfill this year is getting a job or finding another source of somewhat sustainable income. This goal is important as it would provide me with enough money to get the things I need. In order to achieve this, I will look for opportunities online and try to find out exactly what kind of job I'm looking for. By preparing an application on top of this, I can hopefully secure a part-time position. I hope to implement this by the end of May.

4. The final goal that I hope to achieve is getting outside more. This goal is important as it gives me a reason to investigate the environment around me and satisfy my interest in ecology. In order to achieve this, I will start walking more, going into the park around my house and identifying the species that live there. By compiling the data I find on top of this, I will gradually become healthier and happier. I hope to implement this by the end of February.

Summary: Today in class we wrote ourselves resolutions that we hope to fulfill throughout the new year.

Reflection: I believe that my resolutions are most definitely possible, and should facilitate my growing self sustainability. I hope that I can stay on track and complete all of them within a timely manner.

Use a hyperbole, an understatement, and a litotes to describe today's lesson.

As the first semester comes to an end, take time to reflect on your learning and growth in this course. In a well-developed response, explain what you enjoyed most about the class, identify the project or assignment you found most engaging, and discuss which aspect of the course you connected with the most (such as poetry, fiction, writing, or discussion). Finally, reflect on one area where you feel you need additional support or improvement as we move into the spring semester.

In “We Real Cool,” the speakers make choices that seem exciting, bold, and rebellious, even though those choices lead to consequences. Write about a moment in your own life when you followed what looked cool or fun, only to realize afterwards that it wasn’t the smart or responsible path. What influenced your decision, and how did your perspective change later?
