Prompt Response: Over the break I did a variety of things that helped me reset from school which can be more than stressful. For the first few days I did relatively little, playing games on my computer and going outside occasionally. During the middle I took a small trip up to North Caroline where I hiked and snow tubed. At the final stretch of the break, I relaxed and celebrated a family friend's birthday at my mom's.

Summary: Today in class we started and assignment about a poem by Maya Angelou.

Reflection: I found the poem to be very evocative and powerful, summarizing the resilience of the Civil Rights Movement fairly well. I find it amazing how after so much adversity Maya was able to achieve all that she did.

As the first semester comes to an end, take time to reflect on your learning and growth in this course. In a well-developed response, explain what you enjoyed most about the class, identify the project or assignment you found most engaging, and discuss which aspect of the course you connected with the most (such as poetry, fiction, writing, or discussion). Finally, reflect on one area where you feel you need additional support or improvement as we move into the spring semester.

What influenced your decision, and how did your perspective change later?
